  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup red wine
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and celery; sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.
  2. Increase heat to medium-high; add ground beef. Cook for 7–10 minutes until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in minced garlic; cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add crushed tomatoes and red wine; let simmer for 20–30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil salted water in a pot. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and reserve some pasta water.
  5. Combine cooked spaghetti with Bolognese sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to coat, adding reserved pasta water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
  6. Serve hot topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
