Description

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp butter (for greasing)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish, followed by half of the diced ham and sautéed onions. Sprinkle with cheese. Repeat layers.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over layered ingredients.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil in the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
  6. Serve hot alongside salad or bread.
