- 2 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, thinly sliced

- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the dish, followed by half of the diced ham and sautéed onions. Sprinkle with cheese. Repeat layers.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over layered ingredients.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil in the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
- Serve hot alongside salad or bread.
